When is it appropriate to use QDoc?

QDoc is not a replacement for in-person care with your family physician or primary care physician. QDoc is also not appropriate for emergency situations – if you are experiencing a medical emergency, go to the nearest emergency room or call 9-1-1. 

QDoc is designed to work alongside your primary care provider to make sure that you receive appropriate care when you need it. Appropriate reasons for visits with a QDoctor include minor illnesses, minor injuries, requests for prescription refills (for non-controlled medications) in between visits with your primary doctor, and requests for medical advice when your primary doctor is unavailable.
