The Benefits of Using QDoc Early in the Morning

Blog Centre QDoc Blogs Benefits of Using QDoc in the Morning Looking to log-in, get care, and move on with your day? Whether it’s getting ahead on your to-do list or taking care of something that’s been on your mind, small decisions early on can make everything feel a bit easier—including when it comes to your health. While QDoc is a 24/7 service, there’s no denying there’s benefits to hopping on at certain times, one of them being early in the morning. The Benefits Faster wait times Fewer people tend to log on early, which means you’re not sitting behind a long queue waiting to be seen. You can often connect with a provider much faster (and sometimes almost right away), which helps make the whole experience feel smooth and easy. So whether you’re eating breakfast, getting the kids ready for school, or just up early not feeling well, it’s a good time to give QDoc a try. So whether you’re eating breakfast, getting the kids ready for school, or just up early not feeling well, it’s a good time to give QDoc a try! More availability for same-day appointments Earlier in the day, you may notice there’s more availability to book appointments. Whether you’re looking to be seen right away or prefer to schedule something for later that day, logging into QDoc in the morning gives you more flexibility to plan your day accordingly. Get ahead of the rush As the day goes on, more patients start logging in and volumes increase, resulting in higher wait times. By starting your visit in the morning, you’re simply ahead of that curve—and closer to the top of the queue. More time for the next steps Starting your visit in the morning gives you the rest of the day to follow through on anything that comes out of it. If you’re prescribed medication, you’ll have time to have it sent to your pharmacy and picked up the same day. If lab work or imaging like X-rays are needed, you’re more likely to get those done without having to wait until the next day. It makes the whole process feel a bit more efficient, and all on your time! Start your day with QDoc and get care when it works best for you. When to Get Laceration Care on QDoc

Minor cuts and skin tears happen — And while most small injuries can heal on their own, some require professional attention to prevent infection and ensure proper healing. That’s why QDoc is proud to offer CutDoc Laceration Care, a streamlined way to get connected to in-person treatment quickly and safely in Winnipeg. It’s not always obvious, though, whether a cut can be managed at home, with QDoc, or requires a visit to a clinic — here’s a simple breakdown to help you decide. When QDoc is a good option QDoc works well for simple, clean cuts — the kind you’d get from something like a kitchen knife or a broken dish. You can use QDoc for laceration care when: The cut is small, clean, and not very deep You’re 16 or older and able to consent to your own treatment (no sedation needed) The bleeding has slowed or stopped with pressure You’re mainly looking for guidance on whether the wound needs closure and how to care for it at home In these cases, a QDoc provider can look at the injury over video, walk you through proper cleaning, tell you if it needs in-person sutures, and help you plan next steps. If that sounds like your situation, you can start a visit with a QDoc provider or learn more about how laceration care works on QDoc. When in-person care is needed, this process ensures patients are triaged quickly and receive timely attention for cuts or skin tears that need professional care. When QDoc is not appropriate If any of the following are true, you should go in-person rather than using QDoc: Excessive or uncontrolled bleeding Numbness, tingling, weakness, or trouble moving the area (possible nerve or tendon injury) A broken bone or another serious injury (e.g., head injury, neck injury) A deep, open wound Human or animal bites Cuts involving the eyelid, lip, or ear Injuries from a crush mechanism (finger in a door, heavy object, machinery, etc.) These situations often require stitches, imaging, antibiotics, or a hands-on physical exam that cannot be done virtually. Important Notes QDoc is not for emergency situations. If your injury is severe, bleeding heavily, or life-threatening, please visit your nearest emergency department or call 911 immediately. Not every laceration will require in-person care. Our CutDoc physicians will determine the best course of action for each patient to ensure safe and effective treatment. Share the Post:

I have tried calling a patient multiple times and they haven’t answered me – how should I proceed? If they do not respond after several minutes, exit the encounter and mark it as ‘Incomplete – Do not bill’. We are working towards sending the patient a pre-recorded phone call message in addition to the text to notify them that a physician is waiting to see them.
