So whether you’re eating breakfast, getting the kids ready for school, or just up early not feeling well, it’s a good time to give QDoc a try. So whether you’re eating breakfast, getting the kids ready for school, or just up early not feeling well, it’s a good time to give QDoc a try! More availability for same-day appointments Earlier in the day, you may notice there’s more availability to book appointments. Whether you’re looking to be seen right away or prefer to schedule something for later that day, logging into QDoc in the morning gives you more flexibility to plan your day accordingly. Get ahead of the rush As the day goes on, more patients start logging in and volumes increase, resulting in higher wait times. By starting your visit in the morning, you’re simply ahead of that curve—and closer to the top of the queue. More time for the next steps Starting your visit in the morning gives you the rest of the day to follow through on anything that comes out of it. If you’re prescribed medication, you’ll have time to have it sent to your pharmacy and picked up the same day. If lab work or imaging like X-rays are needed, you’re more likely to get those done without having to wait until the next day. It makes the whole process feel a bit more efficient, and all on your time! Start your day with QDoc and get care when it works best for you. When to Get Laceration Care on QDoc

Blog Centre Virtual Care When to Get Laceration Care on QDoc Minor cuts and skin tears happen — And while most small injuries can heal on their own, some require professional attention to prevent infection and ensure proper healing. That’s why QDoc is proud to offer CutDoc Laceration Care, a streamlined way to get connected to in-person treatment quickly and safely in Winnipeg. It’s not always obvious, though, whether a cut can be managed at home, with QDoc, or requires a visit to a clinic — here’s a simple breakdown to help you decide. When QDoc is not appropriate If any of the following are true, you should go in-person rather than using QDoc: Excessive or uncontrolled bleeding Numbness, tingling, weakness, or trouble moving the area (possible nerve or tendon injury) A broken bone or another serious injury (e.g., head injury, neck injury) A deep, open wound Human or animal bites Cuts involving the eyelid, lip, or ear Injuries from a crush mechanism (finger in a door, heavy object, machinery, etc.) These situations often require stitches, imaging, antibiotics, or a hands-on physical exam that cannot be done virtually. Important Notes QDoc is not for emergency situations. If your injury is severe, bleeding heavily, or life-threatening, please visit your nearest emergency department or call 911 immediately. Not every laceration will require in-person care. Our CutDoc physicians will determine the best course of action for each patient to ensure safe and effective treatment. How the QDoc Virtual Doctors Can Help

Blog Centre Virtual Care How Our Virtual Providers Can Help You’ve been introduced to QDoc, created your account and patient profile, found a comfortable place on the couch, and are now ready to join the queue. But before you enter the queue, you may ask yourself, “Can the online doctor even help me with what I need?”  The short answer is yes, as long as your situation is not an emergency. By sticking around and continuing to read this article, you will discover the variety of ways our QDoctors can help you.  Write prescriptions Once you have been seen, our medical doctors can prescribe non-controlled medications suitable for your treatment within the proper practice guidelines. Our virtual doctors in Manitoba cannot prescribe controlled medications. Once your prescription is confirmed, you can request that your doctor sends it to your preferred pharmacy. They will then send it to be filled. However, please note that QDoc will not contact you when the prescription is ready for pickup. You can call your pharmacy to inquire about its status or wait for them to contact you.     Order requisitions Our QDoctors can order lab tests for you, and you can take the requisition to the lab of your choice. The requisition will be sent to your patient profile, where you can view it and print it without leaving the comfort of your home.   No printer? No problem! You can contact our administration phone line, and we will be happy to send it to the lab of your choice.  After your lab tests are completed and reviewed, you can access the results through the “view results” feature on your patient card. To ensure privacy, you will need to enter the verification code sent to your phone before accessing the results.  Write doctors notes If you require a sick note but prefer to stay in bed, our virtual doctors are here to assist you. When you request a sick note during your virtual visit with QDoc, the doctor will write it for you and upload it to your patient card. You can then easily download the note and send it to anyone needing it.  Send referrals While our QDoctors excel at providing virtual care, we recognize that certain aspects of medical care require in-person attention. Our QDoctors know that second opinions, consultations, and additional tests might be necessary. They will gladly facilitate the process by sending referrals.   The QDoctors can connect you to various medical specialists to ensure you receive the proper care. Whether you require diagnostic imaging or need to consult with a specialist, QDoc is here to assist you in taking those necessary steps.      QDoc offers a wide range of services and assistance through dedicated QDoctors. From prescribing non-controlled medications to ordering lab tests and providing sick notes, QDoctors provide access to care while helping you bypass the emergency department and access the best possible healthcare when you can’t access your family physician.   If you have any additional questions regarding the information in this article or using QDoc.ca, please feel free to contact our administrative line Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm at +1 (833) 736-2362 or email info@qdoc.ca.
