How does QDoc work?
Patient Support General Questions How Does QDoc Work? The team at QDoc has developed a software that allows patients to be connected to doctors and nurse practitioners for virtual video appointments. This service is free for Canadian residents with a provincial health card, excluding Quebec. To be connected to a provider, you need to create a secure account using your email address and a password on our website qdoc.ca or by downloading our app, QDoc Virtual Healthcare, from the iOS app store or Google Play store. After this, you can create a patient card using your first and last name, your date of birth, and your health card information. Once your information has been saved, you simply have to click the “Start Visit” button on your card to be placed in the queue. Whenever a patient enters the queue, the most appropriate providers receive a text notification that there is a patient to be seen. If no provider responds to this message after a period of time, the search is escalated, and more providers are notified. The first provider to respond to the message can review your chart and is then connected directly to you for an online audio-video appointment. From here they can assess your symptoms, write prescriptions, and order lab tests if they are deemed necessary. If you have a family physician listed on your patient profile, you can select to have a summary of the encounter automatically sent to them once the visit has ended. Similar Resources
